North Boise Little League

The Eagle Optimist Club is sponsoring a team in the North Boise Little League. They are The Mariners and they play in the T-Ball Division for five and six year-old boys and girls. Their remaining schedule is posted here.

Eagle Optimist Club Sponsors Nakahi Rugby Club


The Eagle Optimist Club is sponsoring the Nakahi Rugby Club which consists of high school boys from Eagle and Rocky Mountain High Schools. They play in Rugby Idaho's High School division consisting of teams from all over Idaho including The Treasure Valley, Mountain Home, Blackfoot and Pocatello to name a few. Nakahi finished their regular season 6 and 1 and won their first playoff game against Mountain View. They are scheduled to play in a semi-final game on Saturday, May 12 at Fairmont Jr. High School on Cole Road in Boise at 2:00pm.


2nd Annual Communication Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CCDHH) Held








The Eagle Optimist Club held its 2nd Communication Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CCDHH) on April 19 at The Eagle Public Library. This year's topic was "How My
Optimism Helps Me Overcome Obstacles". Each participant had the option to present their speech either orally or by American Sign Language. The top three winners received medals. The top four contestants are eligible to participate at this year's Pacific Northwest District Competition to be held at the District meeting the weekend of May 18 in Newport, Oregon. The winner of the District Competition will received a $2500 scholarship.

Eagle Optimist Club Announces Essay Contest Winner

The Eagle Optimist Club held its annual Essay Contest earlier this year. This year's winner is Chas Baines from Meridian. Chas' winning Essay was forwarded to the Pacific Northwest (PNW) District Contest with a chance to win a $2500 scholarship. The winner will be announced at the next PNW District Convention to be held in Newport, Oregon the weekend of May 18.
